The Malon are a Delta Quadrant power who were notorious for dumping antimatter waste outside of their space regardless of the environmental hazards involved. A Malon waste barge was pulled into The Forge's dampening field and joined forces with a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, a Hirogen warship and a Terran Empire starship, raiding other trapped ships for supplies. When the USS Voyager's Hazard Team infiltrated the Scavenger Base to collect Isodesium to restore power to their starship, they found navigating the Malon section, flooded with the antimatter waste, particularly hazardous.
