Toran Class transports are designed to follow combat vessels into enemy territory, carrying troops for ground invasion. They are not combat vessels in their own right, however, and will rarely if ever survive combat if they are not escorted. Their modular hulls can be dismantled to provide the core sections of an outpost or starbase.

These uprated Toran Class transports have heavier shields and armour to increase survivability during combat landings. Their hulls have been redesigned to carry more troops and personnel which speeds up military construction. Their modular hulls can be dismantled to provide the core sections of an outpost or starbase.
